The Lodge at Shelburne Bay is located in Shelburne, Vermont in the Greater Burlington area, which is often described as the West Coast of New England. On the shores of Lake Champlain and just 10 minutes south of Burlington, The Lodge is situated in a culturally vibrant community and is one of the best places in the country to live and play.

The Lodge communities are proud supporters of the University of Vermont and Middlebury College and serve a large number of alumni from both institutions. The Lodge understands the importance of intellectual stimulation, cultural immersion, and personal growth-striving to keep its residents connected by forging a strong bond with our local colleges, universities and other area attractions, see below for a few of these offerings:

University of Vermont: With many of our residents former UVM alumni, it's important that we help them maintain a close connection with their alma mater. Our proximity to the university allows our residents to visit the college for presentations, lectures, and other educational experiences. If there is a lecture or other event you would like to attend at the college, please let us know, and we'll be happy to provide transportation there and back. www.uvm.edu

Flynn Center for the Performing Arts: The Flynn Center is Burlington's main venue for Broadway shows and other exhilarating performances. With a packed schedule, there's something for everyone. If there's a show you would like to attend, we'll be more than happy to help you obtain tickets and provide transportation to and from the show. www.flynncenter.org

Shelburne Farms: Created as a model agricultural estate in 1886 by William Seward and Lila Vanderbilt Webb, Shelburne Farms became an educational non-profit in 1972. Located on nearly 400 acres of woodlands and the shores of Lake Champlain, residents can enjoy the walking trails, children's farmyard, inn, restaurant, property tours and special events. Shelburne Museum: 150,000 works of art, Americana, and design, located in Vermont's beautiful Lake Champlain Valley. The Shelburne Museum is one of New England's most diverse and unconventional museums, exhibiting everything from French Impressionist paintings to American folk art. ECHO Leahy Lake Aquarium and Science Center: Located on the Burlington waterfront, the 2.2 acre ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center/Leahy Center for Lake Champlain features 70 live species, over 100 interactive experiences, seasonally changing exhibits and events - all exploring the Ecology, Culture, History, and Opportunity for stewardship of the Lake Champlain Basin. www.echovermont.org

Church Street Marketplace: The city of Burlington, built on a hillside overlooking the lake, has a cosmopolitan flair that is complemented by one of the lowest crime rates and best air-quality measures in the nation. It is the regions commercial center, with more than 160 retail stores. Many are located in the historic Church Street Marketplace, a brick-and-cobblestone pedestrian mall lined with restored buildings that also include restaurants and coffee houses.
